Woman dies following multi-injury crash with entrapment in Homestead

ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA – One of the eight people who were hospitalized after a collision last Wednesday, July 3, in Homestead succumbed to her injuries over the weekend, according to Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

The accident unfolded in the area of East Eighth Avenue and Ann Street at about 8:00 p.m.

As of this writing, local authorities have not released a sequence of events, but two vehicles were involved, and three people had to be extricated by crews after being left trapped in the wreckage.

In total, eight people were transported to local hospitals. Over the past weekend, a 47-year-old Duquesne woman who was taken to UPMC Mercy was pronounced deceased.

No other information regarding their conditions has been made available.

It’s unclear at this time whether anyone is expected to be charged or cited.
