BUTLER COUNTY, PA – A multi-vehicle collision Monday afternoon, July 8, in Butler Township sent an elderly male driver to the hospital, according to Butler Eagle.
The events unfolded on Pittsburgh Road near Litman Road at around 1:40 p.m.
Witnesses told Butler Township Police that a truck was traveling northbound when it rear-ended the car ahead of it. The impact of the initial crash caused the car to sideswipe a third, unspecified vehicle.
The driver of the rear-ended car, who reported pain, was transported to an area hospital. No information regarding the extent of his condition has been shared publicly.
While the front of the striking truck sustained heavy damage, none of the occupants from the other vehicles were sent to the hospital.
All traffic in the area was stopped, causing a backup in the area, as emergency responders from multiple area agencies processed the scene.
No charges or citations have been reported as of this writing.
