Motorcyclist left critically hurt after crash with vehicle in Hempfield

WESTMORELAND COUNTY, PA – One person was seriously injured last Friday morning, July 5, when their motorcycle collided with a passenger vehicle on State Route 136 in Hempfield Township, reports TRIBLive.

A Westmoreland County emergency dispatcher said the two-vehicle wreck occurred at the intersection with Bus Garage Road, near Hempfield Area High School. It was first reported just before 10:30 a.m.

Officials have not disclosed the circumstances of the event, but the motorcycle operator had to be airlifted to a local trauma center.

No other major injuries were immediately reported, and it’s unclear at this time which party was at fault in the accident.

Part of Route 136 between Toll Route 66 and Middletown Road was closed as crews attended to the scene.
