PITTSBURGH, PA – A man died after being struck by a vehicle in the East Allegheny neighborhood of Pittsburgh early Saturday morning, authorities said.
The Pittsburgh Public Safety Department stated in a Facebook post that police were called to the intersection of East Ohio Street and East Street at about 2 a.m. Officers found a man dead in the roadway with severe trauma.
Witnesses saw the man exit a silver pickup truck that was travelling eastbound on East Ohio Street, before being struck by the same vehicle. The driver of the truck then fled the scene, continuing on East Ohio Street before making a left onto Madison Avenue.
The incident is under investigation by Violent Crime Unit detectives and the Collision Investigation Unit.
