PITTSBURGH, PA – Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred in Pittsburgh early Sunday morning, according to TribLIVE.
The collision happened in the Mount Washington neighborhood at about 12:30 a.m. Authorities said a man was walking his dog in the area of Bailey Avenue and Ruth Street when they were hit by a vehicle, killing the dog and injuring the pedestrian. The man was reported to be in critical condition after being taken to the hospital.
The driver involved left the scene but the vehicle, described as a black 2009 Lexus SUV, was recovered Sunday afternoon. It was towed away to be processed.
A stretch of Bailey Avenue was shut down while the incident was being cleared and investigated.
