PITTSBURGH, PA – Two people, a teenager and a young adult, were arrested Tuesday afternoon following a police pursuit and injury collision near Armstrong Tunnel in Pittsburgh, reports WPXI.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the two suspects were occupants of a Jeep that had been spotted and identified as stolen by troopers while on Interstate 376.

Shortly after fleeing an attempted traffic stop, the Jeep was involved in a crash in which two cars collided head-on. One person suffered injuries considered minor, and up to four vehicles were damaged in the incident.

Three male suspects ran from the crash site, but authorities were able to detain two, including a teenager and an 18-year-old man. The captured suspects have been charged with “fleeing a police officer” and face a number of others.

An investigation and search for the third male suspect remains in progress.

While a stolen gun was recovered from the scene, police say the at-large suspect is not believed to be a threat to the community.
