FAYETTE COUNTY, PA – A 51-year-old Braddock man lost his life after being hit by a vehicle Monday evening in Perry Township, according to CBS News Pittsburgh.

Shortly after 7:30 p.m., emergency responders were called to the scene on State Route 51 near Sunoco Gas Station in the Star Junction neighborhood.

A preliminary investigation found that the man was trying to cross PA-51 (Pittsburgh Street) on foot when he was struck by an unspecified SUV.

The male pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Fayette County Coroner not too long after.

Investigators say the driver stayed at the scene after the incident.

The case is being handled by the Pennsylvania State Police.
