ALLEGHENY TOWNSHIP, PA – Authorities responded to a collision early Monday in North Fayette Township that resulted in the death of one person and left another person hurt, reports CBS News Pittsburgh.

The accident, which occurred on Noblestown Road near Sturgeon Street, prompted a response from emergency crews shortly after 2:00 a.m.

While officials have not indicated the cause of the wreck, a 59-year-old Oakdale resident was pronounced deceased at the scene. The decedent has since been identified by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Another victim was transported to a nearby hospital where their condition remains unclear.

Part of Noblestown Road was blocked off as an investigation was conducted in the area.
