HARRISON, PA – A Harrison Township woman was rushed to the hospital after being struck by a vehicle on Monday afternoon, according to TribLive.
Police said the 64-year-old pedestrian was walking across Freeport Road near California Avenue at about 4:35 p.m. when the collision occurred. It was reported that a 72-year-old man was driving a sedan toward Tarentum on Freeport Road when he went through a red light on California Avenue and struck the woman.
She was transported to Allegheny General Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition. The driver involved was not injured in the incident. He remained at the scene and flagged down a passing police officer. Sun glare was believed to be a contributing factor in the accident.
Four summary traffic charges were filed against the driver.
