WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA – Two people were taken to the hospital after their car collided with a school bus in Washington Township on Thursday afternoon, according to TribLive.
Superintendent Jason Lohr said the incident involved a Kiski Area school bus. He said the driver of the bus was heading south on Route 66 shortly before 4 p.m. and was attempting to make a left turn onto Mamont Drive when the bus collided with a car that had been traveling on Mamont.
The driver of the car and an adult passenger were transported for evaluation at an area hospital. The eight elementary school students on the bus were evaluated at the scene by EMS but none of the children were injured. The bus sustained minor damage.
The students were then dismissed to their parents or for boarding onto another bus to complete their route.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by Washington Township police.
