Accident Closes I-79 In Both Directions, Sends 4 To Hospital

WASHINGTON COUNTY, PA – An accident along Interstate 79 in Washington County Friday morning sent four people to the hospital and closed the interstate in both directions, KDKA reports.

Pennsylvania State Police were called to the scene after the incident was reported at 8:17 a.m. There was no immediate word on the condition of the four injured victims.

The crash shut down the interstate between Exit 30 (Lone Pine/Amity) and Exit 33 (Laboratory), and drivers were advised to seek alternate routes until the wreck was cleared.

The cause of the accident is under investigation by State Police.
