76-Year-Old Man Dies After Being Struck By Vehicle That Left Scene In Monaca

MONACA, PA – Police made an arrest following a fatal collision involving a pedestrian that occurred in Monaca on Saturday evening, according to WPXI.

According to police, a 76-year-old man was struck by a vehicle shortly before 7 p.m. at the intersection of 12th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. He was pronounced dead Monday morning at Allegheny General Hospital.

Investigators determined that the driver who struck the man left the scene through several side streets afterwards, but he was later identified through surveillance footage obtained from an area gas station as well as witness statements.

The alleged driver, a 38-year-old Aliquippa man, faces multiple charges, including accidents involving death or personal injury and accidents involving death or injury while not licensed.
