PITTSBURGH, PA – A wrong-way crash in Pittsburgh on Sunday evening left two people dead and two others injured, CBS Pittsburgh reported.
Pennsylvania State Police and Allegheny County first responders were dispatched to the scene at about 7:30 p.m. on Interstate 376 between the Exit 71A (Grant Street) and Exit 71B (Second Avenue) interchanges.
State Police learned that the driver of a Chevrolet Silverado was going east in the westbound lanes of I-376 and collided with a westbound Nissan Frontier. The Nissan driver died at the scene, while a passenger in the vehicle was pronounced dead after being taken to a local hospital.
Two men in the Silverado were hospitalized with undisclosed injuries.
State Police are continuing to investigate the collision, which shut down the roadway for several hours.
