ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA – Authorities were dispatched to a crash involving a big rig early Tuesday afternoon, August 6, off State Route 51 near north Jefferson Hills, according to WTAE.
The collision took place on a section of Coal Valley Road that runs between PA 51 (Clairton Boulevard) and the hospital. It was first reported by WTAE at 1:08 p.m.
At this time, the circumstances behind the tractor-trailer accident remains unclear, but Jefferson Hills Police Department officials were urging motorists to seek alternate routes.
Those en route to the hospital were advised to take Route 885.
No information regarding the conditions of the involved parties has been released, and the department has not indicated whether anyone is expected to be charged.
