School bus accident at Pittsburgh Minadeo PreK-5 injures driver

PITTSBURGH, PA -A school bus driver was hospitalized Wednesday morning after an incident at Pittsburgh Minadeo PreK-5 school where an unattended bus rolled into a fence and pole on school property, according to KDKA.

The incident occurred during morning drop-off as students were being transported to the elementary school. According to a statement from Pittsburgh Public Schools, the driver had exited the vehicle when it began to coast downhill.

In an attempt to regain control of the moving bus, the driver tried to re-enter the vehicle. During this effort, the driver sustained injuries and was subsequently taken to a local hospital. The nature and severity of the injuries were not immediately disclosed.

School officials said students were on board the bus at the time of the incident, but reported no injuries among the children.
