PITTSBURGH, PA – A Robinson Township Police Department officer was one of the two people rushed to a hospital Friday night after a crash on Campbells Run Road near west Pittsburgh, reports CBS News Pittsburgh.
The events unfolded just west of Interstate 79. Officials indicated that the officer was hit by a vehicle while responding to the scene of a critical injury motorcycle crash.
Investigators have not yet released further information regarding the driver who struck the officer. The officer’s condition is also not immediately clear.
