Multi-vehicle crash on Mosside Blvd. kills Trafford woman

MONROEVILLE, Pa. — A 69-year-old woman died Friday morning following a collision involving her car, a tractor-trailer, and another vehicle on Mosside Boulevard, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

According to investigators, the incident occurred around 9 a.m. in the 2100 block of Mosside Boulevard, near the intersection with Broadway Boulevard.

The woman was driving her Hyundai Elantra northbound when she slowed to make a left turn into a parking lot. A northbound tractor-trailer carrying an oversized load struck the Elantra from behind, pushing it into the path of an oncoming Dodge Caravan.

First responders extricated the woman and rushed her to a nearby hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.

A male passenger in the Elantra was transported to the hospital in stable condition. The two occupants of the Caravan also received medical attention for injuries described as non-life-threatening.

The truck driver, who was uninjured, remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
