PENN HILLS, PA – Two people were hospitalized following a two-vehicle wreck Friday morning on Frankstown Road in Penn Hills, reports WTAE.
Penn Hills Volunteer Fire Department crews responded to the scene near Coral Drive after receiving a call at about 5:30 a.m.
While the events leading up to the incident remain under investigation, officials said a pickup truck collided with a Pittsburgh Regional Transit (PRT) bus the drivers had to be rescued from their vehicles and be transported to an area hospital, where the driver of the pickup arrived unconscious. No information about the extent of their injuries has been released.
Officials said the only passenger on the bus initially declined medical attention, but later reported a leg injury.
A span of Frankstown Road was shut down for about three hours before reopening to traffic.
