PITTSBURGH, PA – A collision at a Pittsburgh intersection Thursday morning claimed the life of a pedestrian, according to TribLIVE.
The incident occurred in the area of Forbes Avenue and Pride Street in the Uptown neighborhood, where police arrived at about 10:30 a.m. The victim was found dead at the scene.
A preliminary investigation determined that the man was walking on the sidewalk of Pride Street near UPMC Mercy Hospital when he stumbled into the roadway. He was then hit by a box truck, whose driver said he did not see the man prior to the crash.
The box truck driver stayed at the scene and was reported to be cooperating with the police investigation.
