HEMPFIELD, PA – Pennsylvania State Police believe a driver going in the wrong direction was responsible for a collision that injured two people in Hempfield on Wednesday, TribLIVE reports.
The incident took place along Route 30 near the exit for Cedar Street at about 5:15 p.m. State police said the driver of an SUV was heading west but ended up in the eastbound lanes of the roadway, where the vehicle collided with a pickup truck. Two other vehicles were also involved in the wreck.
Two people were transported to a Monroeville hospital with undisclosed injuries. Route 30 was shut down for about four hours while the incident was being cleared and investigated.
Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the crash.
