Jeff Ries

Jeffrey Dallas Ries serves as Of Counsel to SMT Legal, handling cases involving personal injury, criminal law, family law, and other civil litigation. He has litigated extensively in both state and federal court in Pennsylvania. In his practice, Jeff is focused on and devoted to helping people by giving real world advice to those in need, explaining what a realistic outcome looks like to clients who may never have had to navigate the justice system before.

Jeff tries to find creative solutions to his clients’ legal issues, especially in family law matters. He believes it’s important to litigate, but only when necessary to achieve the best possible resolution for the client.

Jeff graduated from University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Marketing 2008. Subsequently, he earned his Juris Doctor from University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2011.

He is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association, Westmoreland County Bar Association, and Pennsylvania Bar Association.

Outside of work, Jeff has enjoys volunteering his time with the Pittsburgh Zoo on its Pride Advisory Council and previously served as President of the Steel Valley Rotary Club.
