ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA – An 18-year-old man died as a result of a crash involving a box truck Thursday evening in North Versailles, reports CBS News Pittsburgh.

The fatal accident took place on Lincoln Highway (U.S. Route 30) near Isaac Street. Allegheny County Police Department officers were dispatched to the area at around 5:30 p.m.

A preliminary investigation found that the young man was operating a sedan eastbound when he veered into the opposing lane, causing the car to get hit by an oncoming box truck.

First responders pronounced the driver of the sedan deceased at the scene.

Officials did not immediately indicate whether the truck driver was injured.

Allegheny County officials are handling an investigation.
