PITTSBURGH, PA – Two people were hospitalized with serious injuries Wednesday following a motorcycle collision in downtown Pittsburgh, according to Post-Gazette.
Pittsburgh Public Safety said the two victims were riding a motorcycle near near Mellon Square when the bike struck the driver’s side of a car at the corner of Smithfield Street and Sixth Street.
Officials indicated that one of the drivers did not stop at the intersection’s red light, but it’s unclear at this time whether anyone is expected to be charged or cited.
Both motorcycle riders were taken to a local hospital. The operator was said to be in critical condition while the condition of their passenger was listed as stable.
The driver of the car was not reported injured.
The case is being handled by the Collision Investigation Unit.
