Cyclist dies after crash with vehicle on PA-8 in Shaler Township

ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA – One person suffered fatal injuries early Thursday when he was involved in crash while riding a bike in Shaler Township, according to CBS News Pittsburgh.

Shaler Township Police responded to the scene on State Route 8 at Butler Plank Road shortly before 5:00 a.m.

Preliminary details indicate the bicyclist was traveling across the roadway when he was struck by the vehicle.

The victim was rushed to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The driver stayed at the crash site and communicated with officials

An investigation by the Allegheny County Police Crash Reconstruction team remains underway.
