WASHINGTON COUNTY, PA – Eight student passengers and an adult driver were hospitalized Thursday afternoon as a result of a school bus collision in Mount Pleasant Township, reports CBS News Pittsburgh.
The incident unfolded on Westland Road near 3rd Street at about 2:30 p.m.
Preliminary details indicate that eight Fort Cherry School District students were aboard the bus when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle.
Two students had to be transported by airlift to hospitals in Pittsburgh, where they were listed in serious condition. Six other students, along with the bus driver, were taken by ambulance to area hospitals for more moderate injuries.
Officials have not released any information indicating potential charges, but the accident is being investigated by the Pennsylvania State Police.
