ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA – A police pursuit led to a collision early Wednesday in Glassport Borough that sent two people to the hospital, according to CBS News Pittsburgh.

The accident unfolded in the area of Monongahela Avenue and Hemlock Way, shortly after 12:15 a.m. Officers from multiple boroughs, including Glassport, Port Vue, Liberty Borough, and Lincoln Borough, were all on the scene.

A witness said a driver tried to flee a traffic stop and ended up crashing their vehicle into a parked car.

The circumstances behind the traffic stop remain unclear, but responding officers were said to have recovered a gun in an alley nearby.

Officials have not indicated who was sent to the hospital, and information regarding the extent of the injuries sustained has not been shared.
