SOUTH HUNTINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA – One person lost their life as a result of a two-vehicle wreck early Monday morning in South Huntington Township, according to CBS News Pittsburgh.

The collision occurred on Route 981 at the intersection with Mendon Road. Westmoreland County dispatchers were alerted shortly after 4:30 a.m.

While the cause and nature of the accident have not been shared publicly, officials confirmed that one person succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

One of the involved vehicles was described as a black sedan that was heavily damaged in the crash, but no other information about the other car or those involved has been provided.

The Belle Vernon section of the Pennsylvania State Police is handling an investigation.
