REDSTONE TOWNSHIP, PA – A fiery car accident in Fayette County early Saturday morning left a driver dead, TribLIVE reported.
The crash took place on State Route 166 in Redstone Township just after 2 a.m. According to police, a driver was going south at a high rate of speed when the car drifted to the right shoulder, crashed into a guardrail and then a utility pole. The upper part of the pole was severed from the impact. The pole and a transformer fell onto the hood of the car, causing the vehicle to catch fire.
The motorist, a 31-year-old Republic man, died at the scene. No other vehicles were involved in the accident
