Driver, 19, Dies After Colliding With Pole In Windgap Section Of Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH, PA – A driver was killed in a crash in Pittsburgh early Sunday morning, according to the Pittsburgh Public Safety Department.

Police, fire and EMS crews were dispatched to the scene in the 3800 block of Windgap Avenue in the Windgap neighborhood shortly after midnight.

They found that a vehicle had crashed into a pole, and the 19-year-old driver was ejected. He was taken by paramedics to an area hospital in critical condition, and was later pronounced dead.

The Collision Investigation Unit is trying to determine the cause of the wreck.
