School Bus Crashes Into Tree In Butler County, Injuring Driver And 2 Students

BUTLER COUNTY, PA – Three people were injured when a school bus for the Mars Area School District was involved in an accident in Butler County on Thursday morning, reports CBS Pittsburgh.

The incident happened at about 8:30 a.m., when the bus crashed into a tree on Three Degree Road in Adams Township. About 20 elementary school students were on board at the time. The bus driver and two of the students were taken to an area hospital, but there was no immediate word on their conditions.

Students who were not hurt were placed onto another bus and taken to school.

“All students, who were on the bus at the time of the accident, were evaluated by emergency medical personnel and their parents/guardians have been contacted directly,” said the Mars Area School District superintendent in a public statement.

The district thanked emergency responders and school personnel for their quick response to the accident, and said social workers would be available to students for the rest of the school day Thursday and again on Monday.
