CENTER TOWNSHIP, PA – A man is facing a drunk driving charge following a collision at a home in Center Township in Beaver County on Monday afternoon, CBS Pittsburgh reports.
Authorities said the driver was behind the wheel of a Jeep Cherokee on Center Grange Road at about 4:30 p.m. when he veered off the roadway and crashed into the home’s front porch. The home’s resident was in her living room at the time but was not injured. However, the porch collapsed and the Jeep was totaled.
Police said the Jeep driver failed a field sobriety test and his blood alcohol content was measured at over twice the legal limit. He will be charged with driving under the influence.
The structure of the house was evaluated and found to be stable after the accident.
