ASPINWALL, PA – Allegheny County and Pittsburgh police responded to a pedestrian accident in Aspinwall on Wednesday morning, reports TribLIVE.
A woman, reported to be in her 70s, was injured in the incident that occurred at the intersection of Delafield Road and Freeport Road near UPMC St. Margaret hospital at about 7 a.m.
A preliminary investigation determined that the victim was crossing Delafield Road towards St. Margaret Drive when an SUV making a left hand turn from Freeport Road onto Delafield Road struck her. The woman was transported to a hospital and was listed in critical condition.
The driver of the SUV remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, which was being conducted by the Allegheny County Police Department’s Collision Reconstruction Unit.
