PITTSBURGH, PA – Authorities said charges have been filed in connection with a collision that killed a motorcycle rider in Downtown Pittsburgh, according to WPXI.
The incident occurred July 14. An investigation determined that the driver of a Ford F-150 pickup truck was traveling on Boulevard of the Allies at about 8:45 a.m. when she went through a red light at the intersection with Grant Street.
The pickup truck collided with a motorcycle, killing the 67-year-old motorcycle rider. Data from the pickup indicated that the driver was accelerating in the moments before the collision.
The Ford driver, a 46-year-old woman from Waynesburg, was charged this week with homicide by vehicle, involuntary manslaughter and two counts of recklessly endangering another person. She had two girls with her in the truck at the time of the wreck.
