PLUM, PA – A Plum Borough school bus was among five vehicles involved in a collision on Tuesday afternoon, according to WPXI.
The accident took place in the area of Golden Mile Highway and Duane Drive. Police said the school bus was transporting 27 students from Holiday Park Intermediate and Plum Middle School when the crash took place at about 3:10 p.m. One of the cars involved rolled over from the impact and another went off the road.
Five people, including two of the students, were taken to area hospitals with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Another school bus was sent to the scene to take the remaining students home.
“We are immensely grateful that all of our students and the driver are safe and appreciate the cooperation and patience of our students and families this afternoon,” the school district said in a statement.
Plum police are investigating the cause of the wreck.
