SOMERSET COUNTY, PA – Pennsylvania State Police responded to a fatal crash late Wednesday afternoon in Southhampton Township, reports TRIBLive.
The collision unfolded during rainy weather conditions, on an unspecified span of Cumberland County, at around 5:00 p.m.
Very few details have been shared at this time, but officials indicated that a vehicle collided with a tree that had fallen. It was not confirmed whether the fallen tree was blocking the roadway, but the area around the scene was said to be dark and not illuminated by streetlights.
The driver succumbed to their injuries at the scene. No other occupants were involved.
An investigation by the PSP remains in progress.
