Man Killed When Motorcycle Crashes Into Guardrail on State Route 422

BUTLER COUNTY, PA – Pennsylvania State Police released details on a fatal motorcycle accident that occurred in Butler County, according to CBS Pittsburgh.

It happened Saturday morning on State Route 422 at about 11 a.m. According to State Police, a motorcycle rider was heading west in the right lane of the roadway when he crossed over into the left lane. The motorcycle hit the center median, re-entered the right lane, and then crashed into a guardrail on the northern side of the highway.

The rider, a 42-year-old man, was killed in the wreck. He was not wearing a helmet at the time, investigators said. Route 422 was closed for nearly two hours during the crash response.

In their initial investigation, State Police cited witness accounts that the motorcycle was seen wobbling violently prior to the crash.
