1 Killed, 2 Others Hurt in Wreck on Westbound I-376 in Pittsburgh’s Oakland Area

PITTSBURGH, PA – A young woman died and two other people were injured early Saturday due to a collision near Pittsburgh’s Oakland neighborhood, according to TRIBLive.

Pennsylvania State Police said the wreck occurred on the westbound parkway (Penn-Lincoln Parkway/Interstate 376) near the exit to Boulevard of the Allies, before Liberty Bridge. Troopers were in the area shortly after 12:30 a.m.

An early investigation found that a 23-year-old Pitcairn resident was speeding westbound in an Infiniti when the car crashed as it approached Boulevard of the Allies and Liberty Bridge.

The vehicle’s front-seat passenger, a 20-year-old also of Pitcairn, succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

Emergency crews rushed the backseat passenger and the driver to an area hospital for serious and minor injuries, respectively.

As of Saturday morning, no charges were reported, but an investigation remains ongoing. Officials say the driver is suspected of intoxication.
