ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA – A multi-vehicle collision Thursday evening, August 8, in Gibsonia claimed the life of one person and left at least one other person injured, according to WTAE.
The accident occurred on a stretch of William Flynn Highway (Route 8) at Applewood Drive. It was first reported at about 5:15 p.m.
Northern Regional Police Department officials said one vehicle was heading southbound on Route 8 when it stopped in order to make a left turn at the intersection. Moments later, the vehicle was rear-ended by another vehicle, which forced it into the northbound highway, where it collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle.
While two people were rushed to an area hospital, the driver of the third vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene.
At this time, no information regarding potential charges or citations has been disclosed.
